Brett Clark, managing director and CEO of TAL Group, has been named the next head of the Australian Business Community Network (ABCN).
Since joining the ABCN board in 2019, Clark has made a significant contribution to the strategy, leadership, and governance of the company.
Tony Macvean, managing partner of Hall & Wilcox, who has chaired the ABCN board for the last six years, is leaving the position. Clark will take over as the next chair.
“Brett has already made a wonderful contribution to ABCN over the past four years, and with the setting of a new five-year strategy for the organization, this is the perfect opportunity for him to work with the board and executive to deliver the next phase of impact, innovation, and growth,” Macvean said in response to the appointment.
For the previous eleven years, Macvean had served on the ABCN board, and Clark congratulated him for his achievements.
“I would like to express our gratitude to Tony for his outstanding work over the past 11 years on behalf of the board and the entire organization. We wish him all the best in the future since he is a tremendous friend of ABCN, the board, and the executive. He also leaves an enduring legacy of impact and creativity, according to Clark. “I am honored to be leading the network into the next stage of its development because I have witnessed firsthand the amazing work ABCN does to mentor and support students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and the larger community during my time on the ABCN board.”
